This short tour will take you to Djemaa El Fna, where you will be amazed by the dancers and snake charmers. Enjoy dinner at your Hotel and get rested for the next day.
This day will consist of a full-day tour of Marrakech. After breakfast, you will take to many attractions, including the Menara Gardens, a breathtaking pool encompassed by native flowers. The Koutoubia Minaret, the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and the Museum of Dar Si Said. A traditional lunch at a local restaurant mid-day, followed by a walking tour of the souks. We will end the day by exploring with delicious drinks while looking over the Jamaa El Fna square, with dinner and entertainment to top it all off. Retire back to your hotel for the night.
Fuel up for breakfast, and after, we will explore the blue town of Chefchaouen, which locate in a quiet part of the mountains. In the afternoon, we will make a trip to the long-lost ruin of Volubilis, which will give you a small taste of what life was like back in the days of the Romans. After, food will be a priority while we travel to Meknes. After refueling and getting a quick tour of Meknes, it’s time to head off to Fez, which is considered the cultural hotbed of Morocco.
Today we set off early on foot through Dades Gorges, then switch to a vehicle and drive through the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” before making it to Todra Gorge for lunchtime. Then we will take another walk through the gorge and get ready to head for Merzouga. We arrive in time for dinner and sleep overnight in the Hotel.
After breakfast, we will begin our journey by taking a 4×4 vehicle for almost 4 hours into the desert, where you witness the many faces of the dunes. We will pass through many small villages and stop in one, el Khamlia, to experience the people playing Saharan music and African songs. We will then continue to Rissani, the home of the Alaouite dynasty. After enjoying the local food for lunch, it’s time to head back out to the desert. Here you may have a chance to try out sandboarding for the first time or have a sweet mint tea while taking in the scenery. From there, we will head out on camels to Erg Chebbi for an unforgettable night full of dinner, songs, and dancing. Be prepared to sleep in a traditional Berber tent under the million stars in the sky.
There are dunes just outside of Merzouga where you can get up early and watch the sunrise. After this, it is time to ride the camels back to the Hotel for showering, breakfast, and rest. Today we will begin our journey towards Fez, which will lead us through Rissani, lunch at an apple village in Midelt, and across the Atlas Mountains to Ifrane, a non-Moroccan ski resort built by the French. We will reach Fez by the afternoon, just in time for some resting and dinner.
In Fez, you will partake in a full day of exploring. The adventure begins with a tour of Medina, one of the largest walled cities in the whole world. We will go through the streets loaded with fruits, spices, and Berber art pieces. You will also get a chance to see two mosques that have a history back to 860, the Quaraouiyine and the Andalusian. After that, we will check out other points of interest like the Nejjarine fountain, Batha Palace, which is now a museum, Souk Attarine, and much more. Dinner with entertainment at night at a local restaurant.
After breakfast, it’s time to head out to the “Blue Town” of Chefchaouen. We will make a couple of stops along the way, the first being in Meknes, an imperial city of Morocco. We will have a short tour here, noting the walls and large gates that date back as far as the 17th century. As we continue exploring, we will make a quick stop at the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, which for the longest time, was the only mosque in Morocco that allowed non-Muslims. Just as we check out “Dar Jamai,” the Museum of Moroccan Art, we then depart Meknes and arrive in Volubilis and experience the ancient Roman ruins there, which gives us a glimpse into what life was like in the Roman empire. We will reach Chefchaouen around the afternoon; there may be some time for free-roaming before dinner and rest for the night.
At the beginning of the day, we will have breakfast and have one last small tour of Chefchaouen. Take in the final moments of relaxing in this town hidden away in the Rif mountains. From there, we depart for Rabat, which will lead us through the medina medinas. Right after that are the Hassan Tower and the remains of an old mosque-mausoleum right next to it. Once we head back to the new town, we will check out the Royal Palace, home of the King to the Marinade dynasty. As we get closer to Casablanca, we will encounter the Hassan II mosque, the second largest in the whole world. Once in Casablanca, we will enjoy one last dinner and rest overnight before your departure.
Enjoy your last breakfast before departing for the airport. End of Morocco highlights tour.
