4-day Mgoun express trek

After breakfast, transfer to the high Atlas Mountain valley of Ait Bougmez via Demnat. Our Trek for the summit of Mgoun begins from Tighza village. You will discover a large part of the beautiful valley, the gorges of Arous. Overnight camping in the pasture of Arous. Walking Hours: 6 hours, Up 600 m, Down 0 m

We climb the north face of jebel Tarkeddit on a beautiful zigzag path to arrive at the pass. Enjoy a stunning first view of Mgoun Massif and the summit. A quick descent brings us to the plateau of Tarkeddit (It’s called Mongolia of Morocco). Overnight in tents on the plateau. Walking Hours: 6 hours, Up 700 m, Down 150 m

Today is the big day when you summit Djebel Mgoun (4068 m). Breakfast will be at 5 am and departure at 6 pm; we have a 1000m climb of elevation to do before reaching the long ridge (4 hours walk). A 2-hour walk leads us to the top of the Mgoun with stunning views of the Massif and the desert. A deserved break and picnic, then we walk down to the sheep pasture of Oulilimt (3-hour walking). Overnight camping. Trekking Hours: 9 hours, Up 1168 m, Down 1100 m

Last day we trek through landscapes of impressive shapes and colors of the High Atlas mountains. By a mule Zig-zag path, we climb the south side of mount Igoudamen to reach Tizi N’Aït Imi (3 hours walking), which offers a fantastic view of Ait Bougmez valley. Picnic then walk down to the valley. We drive back to Marrakech via Azilal. Overnight in your hotel in Marrakech. Walking Hours: 7 H30, Drive: 5 hours drive, Up 800 m, Down: 1100 m. End of Mgoun express trek.
