5-day Toubkal Merzouga adventure tour

We meet our mule team early in the morning after travelling to Imlil. Our walk will begin with a pleasant ascent to Aremd Village. We will go through the Sidi Chemharouch shrine and magnificent terraced crop and irrigation canal landscapes before arriving at Toubkal Hut, which is 3100 metres above sea level. There is little difficulty in climbing Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. To take advantage of the freshness of the morning, the start time will be set for early in the morning. We will drive out of Imlil on the third day in the direction of Ouarzazate. The route will pass through the 2260-meter-high Tizi N’Tichka Pass and the High Atlas Mountains. After that, we’ll travel a local route to Ait Ben Haddou, a Ksar that was designated a global historic site by UNESCO in 1987. We’re going to have lunch in Ouarzazate. After that, we’ll retrace our steps and head towards the capital of roses, Kelaat M’gouna. In order to reach the gorges, we will therefore pass via lovely Berber communities in Roses and Dades Valley. 390 km by car to a hotel for the night.

One of Morocco’s most breathtaking gorges, Todra Gorges, awaits you after a delicious breakfast at the hotel. After that, we’ll go on to the dunes of Erg Chebbi and Merzouga. We’ll go by the Arfoud palm grove and Ziz Valley. The ancient Tafilalet capital of Rissani town will be crossed on our way to the enigmatic sea of Erg Chebbi dunes. We will meet our camels at the base of the sand dunes. After that, you ride a camel till dusk to get to the camp in the midst of Erg Chebbi. Traditional Tam Tam drums will be played by local nomads. We rise early in the morning to take a camel ride at sunrise. Travel towards Tazzarine after breakfast, taking in the stunning views of the Sahara desert and mountains along the way. We will then traverse the Draa Valley. It’s among the loveliest valleys in the south of Morocco. You will explore the region’s green cultures as well as the earthen Kasbahs and Ksars.
