The journey continues across expansive plateaus and pastures frequented by Berber nomads and their herds, providing a unique cultural and natural experience.

This trek offers a combination of breathtaking natural scenery, cultural experiences, and exciting adventures. From the tranquil Aït Bougmez Valley to the striking gorges and plateaus, every step reveals something remarkable. Your adventure begins with a transfer from Marrakech, passing through Azilal, the gateway to the High Atlas, before arriving at Agouti, the first village in the Aït Bougmez Valley. Here, you’ll meet your muleteer team and start your trek, passing through the scenic Berber villages of the Arous Valley. Drive: 5 hours. Trek: 2.5 hours. Overnight: Tents
A gradual ascent takes you to the Tarkeddit Pass (3,450m), offering panoramic views of the northern face of the Mgoun Massif and surrounding peaks. Descend to the Tarkeddit Plateau, a tranquil area often visited by nomads and their herds. Trek: 6 hours. Overnight: Tents
This challenging day involves an early morning ascent to the summit of Mount Mgoun. From the top, enjoy breathtaking views of the Central High Atlas, Dades Valley, Jebel Saghro, and the Sahara Desert. Descend to the southern side of the range for a well-deserved rest. Trek: 8-9 hours. Overnight: Tents at Ifri N’Aït Hamou (2,800m)
Experience the southern face of the High Atlas, where nomads graze their herds of goats, sheep, and camels. Trek through the Tichki Valley, passing traditional Berber villages with houses made of pisé (mud-brick). Trek: 7 hours. Overnight: Tents
Descend through a valley adorned with oleander flowers and cross the Amjgag Gorges, where shallow river crossings may require sandals. Pass by traditional kasbahs and enjoy lunch by the river near El Hot village. Continue walking through fields of roses to reach the village of Boutaghrar, marking the end of the trek. Trek: 7 hours. Overnight: Gîte in a local Berber home
On your return journey, travel through Kelaat M’Gouna, famous for its exquisite rose products, and cross the Tichka Pass (2,260m). Enjoy lunch en route before arriving back in Marrakech. Drive: 6 hours
